Military Byakuya

Ulqui, this took me ages!!! But he's finally here!
There's a long story to this vector. I was doing this big project I mentioned after doing Szayel and then this series of scans came. And I saw Byakuya and it was... love at first sight. He was completely rapeable, I mean... vector-able, lol. My friends kept giving me the oddest of looks when I kept talking about this Byakuya that I was dying to ra-- vector. Lol again. But life got hectic: everyone heard of my computer breaking down for a week, my mother losing her job, me losing my "job", my recent eventual skipping meals, excess homework, my marriage problems with PS, the OM shutting down ordeal (I spent like 5+ hours a day reading manga for a week, so I ended with bloodshot eyes and L-esque bags under my eyes) and so on, and so it took me ages to get this little one done. And with mom pestering me with the "get off that damned computer already!" every five minutes, it wasn't any easier.

I had serious trouble with all the medals on his coat. I hated doing them! And then when I finally finished the lights and shades, my PS died on me and I hadn't saved! I hated him so much (I mentioned that on my journal, I gave him the silent treatment for a couple of days) The colors were so dull, but changing them would make it look fake and cartoonish so I left them as close to the original as I could. And I tried to give them a metallic glint, but failed miserably, so I just left them like that. I enjoyed doing the eyes (I always do) and I loved how they ended. The buttons too, I think I did something nice there.

The symbols in the BG are obviously from top to bottom, the Kuchiki family emblem, the Sixth Division flower (Camellia), and the Kanji for Six, I added all of them to give the sense of military and army and stuff. Though I'm not really into the military concept... And on the bottom right, Byakuya's Kanji. I really love the Kanji for Kuchiki, they're beautiful.

I hope you guys like it, I really loved his outfit and expression here and especially his hair. I'm not sure what my next project will be, but I might wait for the Hell arc cards to be released to decide. I have two people in mind, one that I've done before, or one that would be a new addition to the gallery... so hard to decide
